MenuGuard ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data MenuGuard collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
MenuGuard stores the following data exclusively on your device:
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. We do not require you to create an account.
MenuGuard requests camera access solely to scan menu text and QR codes for allergen detection. All camera processing happens on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Camera data is never stored, transmitted, or shared.
MenuGuard may request photo library access to allow scanning of saved menu images. Photos are processed entirely on-device and are never stored or transmitted outside your device.
All data is stored locally using iOS UserDefaults. This data is included in your device's standard iCloud backup if you have iCloud backup enabled. MenuGuard itself does not back up or sync your data to any external server.
You can delete all data stored by MenuGuard at any time by navigating to Settings → Delete all my data within the app. This permanently and irreversibly removes all locally stored information. You may also delete the app from your device to remove all associated data.
MenuGuard does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.
MenuGuard does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
